I got to know my brother and friend, Mr. Mohammad Arabiyat, founder of the Jordanian Social Security Retirees Association, for the first time since the day he called me and honored me and a number of his colleagues with a visit to get to know each other and work at my workplace at the Social Security Corporation. That was in 2009. He is a self-made man who has spent more than (12) years struggling and fighting for the association to occupy its rightful place among the many civil society institutions spread across the Kingdom. I got to know him more closely during my long period of work as director of the media center at the Social Security Corporation, and together we built, with the help and efforts of a number of colleagues from both sides, a beautiful partnership between the institution and the association, which yielded many good results for the benefit of all, and we would have moved more in all directions that we see will achieve common interests for all if we had continued on this path and continued on the path..!
Arabiyat, all attempts to dissuade him from working, frustrate his efforts, and dampen his enthusiasm did not deter him. Rather, whenever we met, he would attract me with his high interest and lofty morale, and his insistence on facing challenges with the determination of a victor, confident in achieving accomplishments and overcoming obstacles. We have always talked about the importance of having a strong entity and a tight, impregnable umbrella under which the brothers, the Social Security retirees, would gather, so that its branch would grow stronger with them and they would grow stronger with it..!
Throughout its relatively short lifespan, the association has experienced periods of ups and downs, activity and stagnation. Elections produced administrative bodies with different orientations, orientations and working methods. These were respected and appreciated bodies, and their presidents worked hard as much as they could to move forward in developing the association’s work and highlighting it on the national scene as one of the pioneering and effective achievements. However, the disagreements and disputes that plagued some of them weakened their wind and strength, and led to the association’s decline, and led to the destabilization of its role, the shaking of its image and the weakening of its position, unfortunately..!
Despite all this, all dear brothers, whether in the current or previous administrative body, know that I was one of the most emphatic in terms of unity of ranks, rejection of differences, purification of hearts, purification of intentions, respect for differences of opinion, and working as one man to introduce the association and bring its idea to the mind of every retiree of the Social Security retirees who currently outnumber (278) thousand retirees.. With this, the association can build a strong, impregnable entity that is resistant to penetration and not liable to collapse..!
I have a fourth stop after the first two stops and the current stop with the association soon, God willing.
