Legal Insurance Information No. (206)
The Social Security Law defines the term unemployment as “the situation in which there is no suitable job opportunity for the insured person despite his ability to work, his desire to work, and his search for work.”
He also defined the unemployed as (the insured person to whom the unemployment condition applies).
It is noted from the above definition that unemployment is difficult to prove, in terms of searching for suitable work, the definition of suitable work for the unemployed insured, the effort expended and required in searching for work, and the desire to work, which cannot be easily proven. Therefore, the practical application of social security has been based on the termination of the insured's service with a particular establishment and their remaining unemployed for a certain period in order to be entitled to unemployment benefits, subject to the other conditions specified in the law.
